Lavanya Achanta, 39, was found dead inside her home on Delatite Court in Vermont, east Melbourne, about 10pm. Her husband, 39-year-old Srinivas Achanta, was treated by paramedics at the scene before being arrested and taken to hospital under police guard. No charges were laid as of Wednesday night. The horrific attack has shaken the neighbourhood with locals recalling the couple moving to the home with their two children about two years ago. They were remembered as quiet, having mostly kept to themselves.  'Very sad, very sad set of circumstances. Hard to believe it's happened not too far from our house,' one neighbour, Jenny, told 9News. 'Nothing like this ever happens here so yeah, it's very unfortunate.' Crime scene tape spread from the front fence to the footpath.  'The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing,' Victoria Police said in a statement.
