CHICAGO, Ill. — Zack Wheeler will make his season debut in Atlanta on Saturday about seven months after undergoing surgery for vascular thoracic outlet syndrome. Wheeler’s return from the injured list, announced by manager Rob Thomson on Tuesday, will provide a much-needed boost for a club that has lost six straight games. Wheeler has not pitched in the majors since Aug. 15, 2025, shortly before he was diagnosed with a blood clot near his right shoulder and was subsequently found to have TOS.
