Peshawar District Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship to start on April 14
The Peshawar District Inter-Club Weightlifting Championship will kick off on April 14 at the Gym Hall of Peshawar Sports Complex under the aegis of the Regional Sports Office Peshawar. The three-day event will feature participation from six different clubs of Peshawar, with competitions to be held in six weight categories: 55kg, 65kg, 73kg, 81kg, 89kg, and over 89kg. Young lifters are expected to showcase their talent and strength during the championship. Regional Sports Officer Kashif Farhan said the event is being organized with the approval of the Peshawar district administration and under the directives of the Director General Sports. He stated that in line with the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government’s sports policy, the organization of inter-club competitions at the grassroots level is continuing on a regular basis to promote sports, and the weightlifting championship is an important link in this chain. Farhan added that all necessary arrangements for the successful conduct of the event have been finalized in collaboration with the District Weightlifting Association to provide the best possible facilities to the participating athletes. It is worth mentioning that events of this nature not only engage the youth in healthy and positive activities but also play a vital role in identifying and highlighting local sporting talent at the grassroots level.المصدر: Express Tribune | Source: Express Tribune
