Perth father feared he would die following an alleged road rage attack with a metal baseball bat after slowing down at traffic lights

Isaac Ladha, 48, said he was on his way to work on Wednesday afternoon, July 15, when he stopped at traffic lights on Beeliar Drive in Success in the city's south. A Toyota Camry driver behind him allegedly began aggressively sounding his horn before getting out and confronting him after Mr Ladha slowed and stopped at traffic lights that had just turned orange near Hammond Road, he said. Mr Ladha alleged the driver then dragged him from his vehicle by the neck and onto the road.  'He opened his boot, took [out] a machete first. I thought, "What the hell?"' Mr Ladha told 7News from his hospital bed. 'And then he put it back. He took [out] a big metal baseball bat.  'He came back and hit me again on my ribs with [the] baseball bat and on my head again a second time. Straight away, I went unconscious.' Mr Ladha said he has suffered a fractured nose and facial cuts. Isaac Ladha, 48, was allegedly attacked by another motorist after slowing down at traffic lights in Perth on Wednesday afternoon  Mr Ladha was driving along Beeliar Drive in Success when he was allegedly attacked  Mr Ladha is lucky to be alive, according to Royal Perth Hospital's Martin Jarman (pictured)  'I thought I was going to die without reason,' Mr Ladha said, adding that he remained traumatised by the alleged incident. But he said he is grateful to a Good Samaritan who pulled over and rushed to his aid. 'She put her hand on my head and really saved me. I was bleeding like a tap,' he said.  'She was trying to make me talk so I did not lose consciousness... the minute I stopped, I could hear her say, "We're losing him, we're losing him".' Doctors believe Mr Ladha may have bled to death if the woman had not intervened, according to Royal Perth Hospital's Dr Martin Jarman. 'Good Samaritan acts like that are very important... He is very lucky that he does not have any brain injuries,' he said. Police arrested a 46-year-old man a short time later in nearby Hammond Park in relation to the alleged incident.  He was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in court on August 11. 'Police say the two men were not known to each other and that it appears to be an isolated incident, with no ongoing concern for community safety,' a statement read.
