People told to close windows and doors as home on fire

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service has advised residents to close all windows and doors in the Hollybush area near Blackwood as they deal with a property fire. The fire service has also asked the public to avoid the area. They said at around 8.30pm on Monday: "Crews are currently dealing with a property fire in the Hollybush area." It adds: "We are advising the public to close all windows and doors and to avoid the area where possible. Thank you for your co-operation while we deal with this ongoing incident." Residents in the village have described smoke coming from the property and visible across the village. The A4048 (Newport Road) is currently closed between Markham and Hollybush.
