So perhaps it was welcome, then, that amid the drama swirling off the field, the Patriots spent the two most important days of the NFL Draft making solid, unexciting selections.They used their first-round pick on Utah’s Caleb Lomu, a young, finesse offensive lineman who needs to get stronger and may not play this season — but who has a high ceiling.
