belirleme ve veri analizi odaklı yapay zeka desteği sunarken, basına yansıyan haber ve değerlendirmeler ise bu teknolojilerin Gazze'deki soykırımda, ABD ile İsrail'in İran'a yönelik saldırılarında ve Lübnan'da kullanıldığına işaret etti. Anadolu Ajansının (AA) "Teknokrasi ve Teknofaşizm" başlıklı dosya haberinin üçüncü bölümünde, Palantir şirketinin savunma sanayisindeki rolü ve İsrail ordusuna sunduğu hizmetler ele alındı. Palantir, yapay zeka teknolojilerini savunma harcamalarıyla birleştirerek veri temelli istihbaratı sahadaki askeri operasyonlara entegre ederken, yaptığı sözleşmelerle savunma sistemlerinin merkezinde yer alan bir teknoloji sağlayıcısı olmayı sürdürüyor. "Gotham","Yapay Zeka Platformu (AIP)","Foundry" ve "Skykit" gibi hizmetlerle Palantir, farklı veri setlerini entegre ederek istihbarat analizi yapabilen, büyük dil modellerini operasyonel sistemlere entegre eden ve sahada taşınabilir sistemlerle veri toplayıp işleyebilen savunma yazılımları sunuyor. ABD ordusuyla 2025'te 10 milyar dolarlık anlaşma imzalayan Palantir, ABD Savunma Bakanlığının (Pentagon) hedef tespitinde yapay zeka teknolojilerini kullandığı "Maven" programında ana ortak olarak yer alıyor. Şirket, ABD ordusu için yapay zeka destekli hedefleme kapasitesini artırmayı amaçlayan "TITAN" programı kapsamında yeni nesil istihbarat yer istasyonu geliştirirken "Army Vantage" platformuyla 2018'den bu yana ordunun veri ve yapay zeka temelli karar alma süreçlerini hızlandırıyor. Palantir'in kurucu ortakları Alex Karp ile Peter Thiel, Ocak 2024'te İsrail'in Tel Aviv kentinde şirketin yönetim kurulu toplantısını düzenledi ve İsrail Cumhurbaşkanı Isaac Herzog ile bir araya geldi. Aynı tarihte İsrail Savunma Bakanlığı yetkilileriyle de görüşen Karp ve Thiel, İsrail ordusuyla stratejik ortaklığa varılması konusunda mutabık kaldı. "İsrail'i her şekilde desteklediğimiz için gurur duyuyorum." diyen Karp, Palantir'in İsrail'e yönelik kurumsal yaklaşımını ve İsrail'le işbirliğinin boyutunu ortaya koydu. "Business and Human Rights Resource Centre" adlı uluslararası sivil toplum kuruluşunun 2024 tarihli açıklamasında, Palantir'in İsrail ordusuna sunduğu teknolojik desteğin, Gazze'ye yönelik saldırılarda doğrudan kullanıldığı ifade edildi. Palantir ise söz konusu iddiaları reddederek İsrail'deki çalışmalarının 7 Ekim 2023'ten önceye dayandığını ve bu çalışmaların ABD müttefiklerine verdiği küresel destekle uyumlu olduğunu savundu. Michael Steinberger tarafından kaleme alınan ve Karp'ın hayatını anlatan "Vadideki Filozof: Alex Karp, Palantir ve Gözetim Devletinin Yükselişi" adlı kitapta, İsrail'in 2024'te Lübnan'da Hizbullah'ın üst düzey kadrolarını hedef alan saldırılarında Palantir teknolojilerinden yararlandığı aktarıldı. Kitapta, İsrail'in "Operation Grim Beeper" adını verdiği operasyonda, çağrı cihazlarının patlatılması sonucu yüzlerce Hizbullah mensubunun yaralandığı saldırılarda da Palantir hizmetlerinin kullanıldığı belirtildi. Amerikan Washington Post gazetesinin haberinde Pentagon'un, İran'a yönelik saldırıları planlarken yapay zeka girişimi Anthropic'in Claude modeli ile Palantir tarafından geliştirilen Maven Akıllı Sisteminden yararlandığı aktarıldı. Claude entegrasyonlu Maven sisteminin, gelişmiş yapay zeka teknolojisini kullanarak İran'daki olası hedefleri belirlediği ve kesin konumlarını verdiği kaydedildi. Sistemin, Venezuela Devlet Başkanı Nicolas Maduro'nun askeri saldırıyla ABD'ye getirilmesinde de kullanıldığı belirtildi. Nisan 2025'te ABD merkezli teknoloji şirketi Microsoft'un 50. yılı etkinliğinde, şirketin İsrail ile işbirliğini protesto eden Ibtihal Abousaad, AA muhabirine, Palantir'in veri analiz sistemlerinin İsrail ordusunun askeri operasyonlarında kritik rol oynadığını söyledi. Bu veriler bir araya getirilerek örneğin bir insansız hava aracıyla entegre ediliyor ve Gazze'de belirli bir bölgeye gönderilerek insanların hedef alınmasına olanak tanıyor." Askeri yetkililerin saldırı kararlarını teknolojiye atfederek sorumluluktan kaçabileceğini aktaran Abousaad, "Palantir'in bir diğer tehlikeli kullanımı da ABD hükümetini ve İsrail'i hukuki sorumluluktan koruyan bir kalkan işlevi görmesidir." ifadesini kullandı. Abousaad, İsrail ordusunca geliştirilen ve Gazze'de hedef tespitinde yoğun biçimde kullanılan "Lavender" ve "Where's Daddy" gibi yapay zeka sistemlerinde Palantir tarafından sağlanan teknolojik altyapının kullanıldığını aktardı. Pentagon'un da kullandığı Maven sisteminin hedef tespit ve gözetim süreçlerini hızlandırdığını kaydeden Abousaad, "Palantir'in Pentagon'a sunduğu hizmetler, ABD ve İsrail'in İran'a yönelik son saldırılarında kullanıldı. Daha önce Lübnan'da çağrı cihazı kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen saldırılarda da Palantir teknolojileri kullanıldı."​​​​​​​ dedi. "Bu sistemlere yazılım demeye bile tereddüt ediyorum, çünkü bunlar açıkça gözetim, savaş ve öldürme amacıyla tasarlanmış." diyen Abousaad, İsrail ordusunun bu sistemleri işgal altındaki Batı Şeria'da yürütülen gözaltı ve operasyonlarda da kullandığını belirtti. Stockholm Uluslararası Barış Araştırmaları Enstitüsünden (SIPRI) yapay zeka yönetişim uzmanı Laura Bruun da yapay zekanın çatışma ortamlarına entegre edilmesinin savaşın doğasını hız ve ölçek açısından önemli ölçüde değiştirdiğini, bunun özellikle hedef belirleme süreçlerinde belirginleştiğini söyledi. Yapay zekanın kitlesel gözetim aracı olarak kullanımının insan hakları açısından ciddi riskler barındırdığını ve mahremiyet hakkını ihlal ettiğini belirten Bruun, Palantir gibi şirketlerin devletlere sunduğu bu tür hizmetlerin sivil ve askeri araçlar arasındaki sınırı bulanıklaştırdığını ifade etti. Çatışma alanlarında yapay zeka kullanımının insan kaynaklı sorunlardan farklı riskler doğurduğunu kaydeden Bruun, mevcut araştırmaların bu teknolojinin savaş alanına entegrasyonunun daha fazla hata ve risk ihtimalini artırabileceğine işaret ettiğini vurguladı. Bruun, yapay zekanın savaşta özellikle hedef belirleme süreçlerinde yol açabileceği hataların sorumluluğunun devletlere ait olduğunu belirterek, sistemdeki aksaklıkları önlememeleri halinde devletlerin sorumlu tutulabileceğini aktardı. Çatışma sahasında yaşanan sorunların yapay zekadan kaynaklanıp kaynaklanmadığını tespit etmenin ise son derece zor olduğunu vurgulayan Bruun, bu teknolojinin soyut yapısı nedeniyle hatanın kaynağını belirlemenin güçleştiğini söyledi. Bruun, "Şu anda bir devletin yapay zekayı yasal ve sorumlu bir şekilde kullanması konusunda pratikte ne yapması gerektiği hala tam olarak belirlenmiş değil." dedi.
