The Multan Sultans opener smashed 106 not out from 57 balls against Hyderabad Kingsmen at the Gaddafi Stadium. His knock in the chase included eight sixes and seven fours, guiding his team to a brilliant win against Hyderabad Kingsmen This century was Farhan’s ninth in T20 cricket, coming in his 166th match. With that, he moved level with Kohli and South Africa’s Rilee Rossouw, all of whom now sit joint sixth on the all time T20 centuries list. Farhan is now just two centuries behind Pakistan captain Babar Azam, who holds second place with 11 hundreds. Australia’s David Warner is just ahead with 10, while Chris Gayle remains far out in front with 22 centuries in the format. • Chris Gayle: 22• Babar Azam: 11• David Warner: 10• Rilee Rossouw: 9• Virat Kohli: 9• Sahibzada Farhan: 9• Abhishek Sharma: 8• Michael Klinger: 8 Sahibzada Farhan had already etched his name into cricket history during the 2026 T20 World Cup, where he became the highest run scorer in a single edition of the tournament. He amassed 383 runs, surpassing Virat Kohli’s long standing 2014 record of 319. In the same tournament, Kohli’s record was also surpassed by India’s World Cup winning hero Sanju Samson and New Zealand’s Tim Seifert, highlighting just how extraordinary that edition was for batters. He also became the first player to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup campaign, with dominant hundreds against Namibia and Sri Lanka. Farhan set a new benchmark for power hitting as well, smashing 18 sixes, the most by any batter in one edition. One of the standout moments of his campaign came in a record breaking 176 run opening partnership with Fakhar Zaman against Sri Lanka, the highest stand in T20 World Cup history. He finished the tournament with an average of 76.60 and a strike rate of 160.25, earning a place in the ICC Team of the Tournament and firmly establishing himself as one of the leading T20 batters in the world. With this knock, Farhan has not only matched some of the biggest names in world cricket but also put himself within touching distance of Babar Azam’s tally. Given his current form, he looks well placed to break into the top three soon and continue his rapid rise in T20 cricket.
