Pair of British tourists attacked staff in Magaluf cocktail bar after waitress refused to serve them

By ISABELLA MACHIN, REPORTER and NATALIA PENZA Published: 23:50, 10 May 2026 | Updated: 23:50, 10 May 2026 Two British tourists attacked three people in a cocktail bar near Magaluf after a waitress refused to serve them any more drinks.  Tommy Colm Witty, 24, and Alexander Lee Anderson, 33, faced sentences of up to 10 years if convicted over the incident, which took place at around 2am on June 22 2024 at Iroko Mallorca in Palmanova, Mallorca.  The pair were initially arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide following the violent altercation in the upmarket restaurant and bar before being charged with three counts of wounding.  Witty, who had been held on remand since the attack, was handed a two-year prison sentence, while Anderson was fined €720 (£620) after both men entered a plea bargain deal.  A four-page indictment released by public prosecutors before the hearing at the Provincial Court of Palma, described how Witty and Anderson, along with two other 'unidentified people', turned violent after the female employee refused service. It read: 'They told her in an aggressive tone: "S*** my d***" and touched their private parts, with a row starting in which both the accused, with the intention of undermining her physical integrity, pushed her and she fell to the floor and hit her head on the ground and received cuts to her leg with broken glass.'   The pair then attacked two other men, believed to be a colleague and a customer, as they attempted to intervene.   The colleague was struck on the back of the head by glass, while the customer suffered wounds to his neck and hand after Witty threw a glass at him, which shattered as the victim raised his arm up to protect his face.  Tommy Colm Witty and Alexander Lee Anderson became violent in the restaurant and cocktail bar Iroko Mallorca after a female waitress refused to serve them more alcohol The pair were initially arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide following the violent altercation (pictured) before being charged with three counts of wounding Witty, who had been held on remand since the attack, was handed a two-year prison sentence, while Anderson was fined €720 (£620) after both men entered a plea bargain deal  Footage captures the violent assault in the packed restaurant, which left all three victims requiring medical treatment for their injuries and forced the employees to take time off work.  Witty, who was found by police brandishing a broken bottle, and Anderson agreed to pay the victims a four-figure compensation settlement as part of their plea bargain. The agreement was reached on the basis of their guilty pleas and the fact they handed cash to the court ahead of the hearing so the three victims could be properly compensated.   A spokesman for the Civil Guard said after the pair were arrested last year: 'Two people aged 24 and 33 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted homicide, wounding and causing serious public disorder following an incident at a nightspot in Palmanova. 'Officers sent to Majorca as part of summer reinforcements were carrying out routine security patrols when they were alerted a mass fight was occurring in a premises near to where they were. 'They saw a man covered in blood who was brandishing a broken bottle who was attacking others present. 'They quickly reduced him and got the broken bottle off him. 'Staff said he, his companion and two others who had fled the scene had attacked employees and two strangers. 'Given the depth of their wounds and the fact they affected vital areas, they were transferred to Son Espases Hospital in the Majorcan capital Palma where they were given stitches to open wounds in their neck, head, arms and legs. 'The blood-covered man, who was the 24-year-old, was arrested along with his 33-year-old companion.' No comments have so far been submitted.
