قال وزير الخارجية الباكستاني، محمد إسحاق دار، إن تركيا ومصر ودول أخرى تقدم الدعم لمبادرة المحادثات الأمريكية الإيرانية.

وأشار إلى أن هناك محادثات غير مباشرة بين أمريكا وإيران عبر رسائل تنقلها إسلام آباد، في محاولة لإنهاء الحرب.

وأبقت باكستان على اتصالات مباشرة مع كل من واشنطن وطهران فى وقت تعطلت فيه هذه القنوات بالنسبة لمعظم الدول الأخرى. وينظر إلى إسلام اباد على أنها موقع محتمل لعقد ​محادثات سلام.

وتدرس طهران ​مقترحا مكونا ⁠من 15 بندا أرسلته واشنطن عبر إسلام آباد لإنهاء الحرب.
