Published: 18:01, 6 July 2026 | Updated: 18:03, 6 July 2026 An Airbnb owner accused of hosting hot tub sex parties has lost the battle to keep his sauna and decking after neighbours said 'unspeakable debauchery' was making their lives hell.  Chandler Harrod marketed his bungalow in Ormesby St Margaret - now nicknamed by locals as 'Orgy St Margaret' - in Norfolk as a perfect getaway spot for couples. However, nearby residents claimed guests staying at the Airbnb were having outdoor sex sessions in the garden and hot tub, which sits on raised decking in full view of neighbouring gardens. Mr Harrod, who bought the property during the pandemic, applied for retrospective permission from Great Yarmouth Borough Council last year for the decking, sauna outbuilding and a 2.8 metre tall trellis fencing in his garden.  But this was refused after a whistleblower tipped off officials, alleging that some building work was done to the garden without the required permission. Now, the Planning Inspectorate has dismissed an appeal by Mr Harrod following a visit to the Airbnb last month, where there was no one available to grant the inspector access to the property.  Mr Harrod was previously warned in writing that a no-show would mean an automatic dismissal under the Town and Country Planning Act 1990.  The appeal followed a series of complaints from neighbours who objected to the unauthorised building work at the Airbnb - which would set you back £221 for two nights - and raised concerns over guest behaviour. Yet the bungalow - which has a rating of 4.82 on Airbnb - is still being listed on the site as a 'coastal getaway with sauna and hot tub', despite Mr Harrod now possibly having to remove the sauna and rip out the decking and trellis.  Phil Leach, 63, a semi-retired welder and storage worker who lives next to the Airbnb, said he had experienced 'many sleepless nights' having to hear sex parties next door.  'I have seen all sorts going on next door. It has been eye-opening and educational, but not really what you want going on all night long next door,' he said. 'Among the chaos going on, there have been wild stag dos, hen dos as well, drunk people on the decking snorting lines of cocaine and smoking weed. It has been crazy. 'It is a residential street and not a holiday destination. 'If people want this, they should go to Ibiza and not to Ormesby. There are lots of elderly neighbours and it is unfair on them.' John Huxford, who has lived in his home that backs onto the Airbnb's gardens for 36 years, added: 'I have seen all sorts going on there. 'I have seen people having sex on the decking and up to all sorts of mischief in the hot tub. People also stand on the table, shouting. 'As a result of the partying, all sorts of stuff has been thrown into my garden - beer cans, litter and even a used condom. It is just disgusting.' Mr Harrod previously said he was 'not aware of any problems with the Airbnb'. He said: 'It's been very successful and it's always fully booked. 'I've had nothing but positive conversations and experiences with all my neighbours on the road. It's a lovely area and everybody has been very kind and helpful. 'Of course, if any of the neighbours need to have a conversation with me, they are more than welcome to.'
