Oklahoma wins NCAA gymnastics title; 8th victory in last 12 championships

Oklahoma senior Faith Torrez mounted the beam, and the Sooners needed a hit. After a fall from Keira Wells and a 9.7375 from Addison Fatta, a major fumble from the Sooners’ anchor would have taken them out of the running in Saturday’s NCAA gymnastics championship.Torrez landed her flips right on and stuck the landing for a 9.95 to keep Oklahoma in it. The Sooners entered the final rotation on floor in second, just 0.075 points behind LSU, and then posted five scores above 9.9 to clinch the national title.Advertisement
