Okan Buruk yönetiminde üst üste 4. şampiyonluğunu yaşayan Galatasaray, toplamda ise 26. kez ligi zirvede tamamladı. Daha önce İstanbul Başakşehir'in başında 2019-2020 sezonunda şampiyon olan Buruk, Galatasaray ile 4. kez mutlu sona ulaşarak şampiyonluk apoleti sayısını 5'e çıkardı. Süper Lig'de 8 kez şampiyonluk yaşayan teknik direktör Fatih Terim, bu alanda rekoru elinde bulunduruyor. Tecrübeli teknik adam, dört dönem çalıştığı Galatasaray'da 1996-97, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-00, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2017-18 ve 2018-19'da şampiyonluk sevinci yaşadı. Ligde Terim'in ardından en fazla şampiyonluk yaşayan teknik adamlar ise dörder kez ile Ahmet Suat Özyazıcı ve Okan Buruk oldu. Özyazıcı, Trabzonspor ile 1975-76, 1976-77, 1979-80 ve 1983-84 sezonlarında şampiyonluk ipini göğüsledi. Üst üste 4, toplamda ise 5. şampiyonluğuna ulaşan Okan Buruk, Özyazıcı'yı geride bırakarak ikinci sırada tek başına kaldı. Süper Lig tarihinde Mustafa Denizli, Gordon Milne, Brian Birch ve Christoph Daum'un üçer şampiyonluğu bulunuyor. Okan Buruk, Süper Lig'de üst üste 4 kez şampiyonluk yaşayan ikinci teknik direktör oldu. Sarı-kırmızılı ekibi son 3 sezonda şampiyonluğa taşıyan Buruk, bu yıl da ligi kazanarak 1996-2000 arasında 4 sezon üst üste şampiyonluk kazanarak rekoru elinde bulunduran Fatih Terim'i yakaladı. Okan Buruk, Süper Lig'de futbolcu ve teknik adam olarak toplamda en fazla şampiyonluk yaşayan isim konumunda. Ligde bu sezona kadar futbolcu (7) ve teknik adamlık (4) kariyerinde en fazla şampiyonluk gören isim olan Okan Buruk'un toplamda 11 şampiyonluğu bulunuyor. Buruk, bu sezon da şampiyonluk sayısını 12'ye çıkardı.
