Former Kangaroos half-back Cherry-Evans, widely considered one of the best playmakers in the history of the sport, is no stranger to shock moves, joining Sydney Roosters from Manly Sea Eagles for 2026 after 15 years with the club.
It had been rumoured that Cherry-Evans, who played for Australia across nine years, could be retiring at the end of this season but reports suggest he may make the move to Super League as he turns 38.

The Black and Whites will have Steve McNamara in charge from next year and it looks like they could have an NRL stalwart pulling the strings too.
Club captain Aidan Sezer and Jake Arthur are Hull FC's current half-back pairing, but the former has already been given the green light to speak to other clubs ahead of the 2026 season.
If the move comes off, it would mean Will Pryce would be battling it out with new recruit Bailey Hodgson for the fullback shirt or with Arthur for a spot in the halves alongside Cherry-Evans.
Sky Sports will show every game of the Super League live this season, including two matches each round exclusively live. The remaining five matches will be broadcast on Sky Sports+.
