No chicken for dinner, Telangana man shouts at wife, she kills him with sickle

A tiff over dinner turned fatal in Kamareddy town on Saturday night when a 28-year-old scrap vendor was attacked allegedly by his wife with a sickle after he shouted at her for not cooking chicken. The victim was identified as Kodandam Shivaji from Gosangi Colony. Around 9pm on Saturday, Shivaji picked up a quarrel with his wife Laxmi for not preparing chicken curry. Their relatives Dadaiah and Sharada, who live nearby, went to the house and pacified the couple. However, a little while after they left, the argument resumed, with Shivaji again blaming Laxmi for not preparing food as per his wishes and also for other domestic problems. As the quarrel intensified, another relative, Nandini, tried to calm them down, but the couple continued arguing. \"During the altercation, Laxmi picked up a sickle kept in the house and attacked Shivaji on the neck. He collapsed after the assault and sustained a head injury due to the fall. He died on the spot due to excessive bleeding,\" Kamareddy inspector B Narahari said.
