The Chancellor seemed to be enjoying herself as she donned the fast food chain's uniform on a visit to East Finchley. Ms Reeves, who was promoting her 'Great British Summer Savings' VAT cuts, could be barely a fortnight away from exiting Downing Street alongside Keir Starmer. Mr Burnham is on track for a 'coronation' as Labour leader, meaning he would take over from Sir Keir on July 20.  Ms Reeves' allies have spent weeks desperately trying to persuade Mr Burnham not to oust her from the Treasury. The Cabinet minister has backed Mr Burnham saying she believes the former Greater Manchester Mayor will be 'great' in No10. There have been increasing signs that Ms Reeves has accepted she will not remain in post. Announcing the Defence Investment Plan on Monday she delivered what appeared to be a valedictory statement, referring to the little-understood 'Secur-o-nomics' conceit from her 'two years as Chancellor'. She has also been warning the next administration against breaking her fiscal rules. Writing in the Telegraph today, Ms Reeves said: 'A Britain spending beyond its means is a weak Britain – one that is more vulnerable to global shocks like the ones caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine and more recently the war in Iran.'
