Emergency services were called to a home on Brougham Street in Moulamein about 1.20am on Friday following reports of a blaze. Fire and Rescue NSW arrived at the property and extinguished the fire. When the home was searched, the body of a woman, who has not yet been formally identified, was found inside. A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Police said a report will be prepared for the information of the coroner. Anyone with information, CCTV footage or dashcam vision is urged to contact Murray River Police District or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. Moulamein recorded a population of 484 in the 2016 census and is the oldest town in the Riverina.
