My surprise encounter with a rage-filled, violent thug outside an ICE detention centre
My surprise encounter with a rage-filled, violent thug outside an ICE detention centre has gone viral worldwide – but really, the incident should not be a surprise to anyone at all. Spit flew in my face as the violent yob barked: “I’ll break your f*****g jaw.” That was my reward for discussing illegal immigration with a completely different, albeit also inane, protester.
Delaney Hall in New Jersey has become America’s ground zero for leftist rage. For ten nights now, it has given us a snapshot of the intolerance and hypocrisy now defining radical activism on both sides of the Atlantic.
Protesters, furious at the detention and removal of illegal migrants, have rioted, assaulted officers and bitten an ICE agent in recent days. Detainees staged hunger strikes. A curfew was imposed. Families were turned away. This is the disorder open-border ideology inevitably produces.
Never mind, the same facility in New Jersey was also used by President Barack Obama. Never mind that Trump has deported fewer illegals than Obama up until this point during his presidency. And never mind that Obama was, in fact, dubbed the "Deporter in Chief" because of his zero-tolerance approach to illegals.
Because what happened to me explains why they have tried to kill President Donald Trump on multiple occasions. Why they took Charlie Kirk from his wife and children. And why they have hurt multiple other conservatives when presented with facts and dialogue. These people are unhinged, dangerous lunatics who believe violence is justified to eliminate their political opponents.
In truth, there is no conversing with these people reasonably. Not least because their arguments don’t make sense and they prove themselves time after time to be massive hypocrites or ignorant of truth or history. Take, for example, the raging protester who threatened to beat me up for five minutes, whose background I discovered today is very colourful indeed.
He launched into a tirade about how the British “raped and pillaged the whole world” to build their power. “How dare you,” he screamed, saliva flying, as he demanded I explain Britain’s (glorious) history instead of addressing migrant crime today.
I have been criticised for not taking an open goal in that moment to inform the oik that it was Britain who first abolished the slave trade, with 25,000 British sailors spilling blood across the seas in a brave and courageous bid to do so.

The truth is, I was more concerned with watching his hands, body language and sudden movements after he approached me initially wearing a balaclava before taking it off and appearing as if he was going to strike. There was also every chance such blistering truth would have sent him over the edge.
Perhaps the most laughable moment came from the guy’s motormouth wingman, who could not help but yap snide remarks in my ear during the entire confrontation. On multiple occasions, he told me, without response, that I should “go back to my country".
Ironic, or not, that the spectacled sidekick was wearing a ‘beyond borders’ T-shirt while protesting the detainment of illegal, criminal migrants who were doing just that: being sent home to their own countries.
But rules and logic do not apply to these Marxist-driven agitators. They are suffering from a mind-virus, which I don’t think has a cure. Instead of looking at conservative ideas and values and concluding they simply don’t agree with them, they have been diseased and brainwashed by an education system and mainstream media that have told them right-wingers are evil who must be eliminated.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

They are paid-for, organised and dangerous. And if and when a Reform UK government gets into power after the next general election – and they embark on a similar deportation plan seen here in the US – the same operation will be seen on the streets of Britain. I suspect Nigel Farage and his party will be paying close attention to what has been happening here in America since Trump took power in January 2025.
Across the West, we see the same pattern: present data on mass migration’s civilisational-ending consequences – rampant crime, unbearable pressure on public services, cultural strain – and the response is rage, not reason.
History is selectively weaponised, while the benefits of Western civilisation (the very system that allows these protests) are ignored. We’ve seen it in Britain’s grooming scandals, in America’s sanctuary-city failures, and when Charlie Kirk was slain in September last year.
As a journalist, I will keep asking the questions that matter. Secure borders are not cruel; they are basic common sense. ICE officers put their lives on the line every day to protect citizens. The silent majority on both sides of the pond must reject this mob mentality and demand policies that put law-abiding people first. Britain and America ignore these warnings at our peril.
