Mum is killed in Perth home - as her 16-year-old son is arrested by police

By KYLIE STEVENS, SENIOR BREAKING NEWS REPORTER, AUSTRALIA Published: 05:02, 21 July 2026 | Updated: 05:29, 21 July 2026 A mother has been killed and a young girl seriously injured in what police believe was a family violence incident at a Perth home.  The woman's 16-year-old son was arrested at the scene and remains in custody. No charges have yet been laid. Emergency services were called to a home on Mills Street in Bentley about 6.15am on Tuesday, where they found a 35-year-old woman with fatal stab wounds. A 12-year-old girl was seriously injured but managed to flee the scene and call triple zero. She was found 600m away near Albany Highway, where passing motorists rushed to her aid. Police are treating the incident as a suspected family violence homicide. 'This incident will have a significant impact on the family, friends and loved ones of all those involved, as well as the broader community,' Detective Acting Inspector Jessica Securo said.
