This is because small children are developing core traits like their language skills, mobility, feelings and independence - but they’re still struggling with impulse control, waiting, and understanding logic and consequences.‌Naturally, this can lead to some tricky times, with tantrums and emotional outbursts par for the course. Many parents feel as though they need “eyes in the back of their heads” to keep up with their toddlers, and they can be left feeling hurt by some of the decisions young children can make.‌Mum Diane Smith was “so, so, so sad” after her two-year-old daughter Stevie found her dad’s hair trimmer and decided to shave off a chunk of her hair - right down the centre of her scalp - just days before her perfectly planned birthday party.Taking to TikTok, Diane filmed the aftermath of the scene, beginning in the bathroom where chunks of long blonde hair could be seen on the tiled floor.Diane then walked through to her daughter’s bedroom, where little Stevie could be seen sitting on the carpet and absent-mindedly playing with a plush toy.‌The mum zoomed in on her hair, showing the shaved chunk down the middle of Stevie’s head.
