Multiple injured as car ploughs into seating area at busy pub in Virginia BeachMultiple people have been injuried after a car ploughed into a busy outdoor seating area of a pub on the Oceanfront in Virginia Beach Friday night at around 7.45pmNewsPaige Ingram03:52, 18 Apr 2026Updated 03:54, 18 Apr 2026View ImageThe car left the road and crashed into the pub seating area(Image: WTKR)Multiple people have been rushed to hospital after a car ploughed into a busy pub.The horror crash happened at the fenced outdoor patio section of Murphy’s Irish Pub at the corner of Pacific Avenue and 30th Street at the Oceanfront at around 7.45pm on Friday evening, Virginia Beach Police said.A police spokesperson said the victims were rushed to local hospitals with injuries ranging from life-threatening to non life-threatening, according to WAVY TV 10, the NBC network affiliate serving the Norfolk, Virginia, television market.Photos taken at the scene show the car had mounted the pavement and crashed through the fence of the pub's seating area.Daniel Auxier was working valet across the street when he heard tires screaching. He said he was shocked by what happened. Auxier said. “I saw bricks and smoke fly up through the air. A bunch of people jumped up, started screaming. And I just saw the passenger get out and sit down. He hasn’t stood up since.”Auxier said the Murphy’s patio was packed with people at the time of the crash.When contacted by The Mirror the Virginia Beach Police department said: "At approximately 7:54 p.m., The Emergency Communications and Citizen Services (ECCS) received a report of a crash involving pedestrians in the 2900 block of Pacific Ave. VBPD officers arrived on scene and located multiple victims."The victim’s were transported to area hospitals ranging from non-life-threatening injuries to life threatening injuries.
