Mother charged with murdering her four-year-old daughter after drowning death near Brisbane

Published: 03:34, 26 May 2026 | Updated: 03:59, 26 May 2026 A mother has been charged with murdering her four-year-old daughter after the girl was found dead at a home west of Brisbane on Monday night following an alleged drowning incident.  Emergency services were called to a Lowood property at 11.10pm and found the young girl unresponsive. She was declared dead at the scene.   After investigations overnight and into Tuesday morning, Queensland Police have now confirmed they have charged a 31-year-old woman with one count of murder domestic violence against a child. She is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon. Police said two other children, who were known to the woman, were located inside the property at the time. Police are now urging anyone who may have relevant information to come forward. Queensland Premier David Crisafulli sent his condolences to the girl's family.
