Rabat – Water reserves across Morocco increased notably in recent weeks, as dam levels reached 75.7%.

According to figures released by the “Al Maa Dialna” platform under the Ministry of Equipment and Water, the total water stored in national dams stood at around 13 billion cubic meters.

This marks a rise of 94% compared with the same period last year.

Authorities link this improvement to recent water inflows that strengthened storage levels in several basins after months of pressure on available resources.

Several major dams now show high levels of fill. In Taounate Province, the Al Wahda dam reached 87%. The Idriss I dam in the same province stood at 95%. In Larache Province, the Dar Khrofa dam reached full capacity at 100%.

In Azilal Province, the Bin El Ouidane dam stood at 94%. In Tetouan Province, the Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah dam also reached full capacity at 100%.

Other facilities remain at lower levels. The Al Massira dam in Settat Province stood at 38%.

The latest figures point to an overall improvement in Morocco’s water reserves, supported by recent inflows that strengthened storage across several key dams nationwide.
