Rabat – Several provinces in Morocco will face harsh weather conditions this weekend, as authorities warn of heavy thunderstorms, hail, and snow.
The Moroccan Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) has issued an orange-level alert for locally intense storms, predicting rainfall of 20 to 30 millimeters accompanied by hail.
The alert covers Al Haouz, Khenifra, Chichaoua, Azilal, Figuig, Khouribga, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Midelt, Tinghir, Errachidia, Zagora, and Tata from Friday at 10:00 a.m. until Saturday at 1:00 a.m.
Snowfall is expected above 2,500 meters, with accumulation of 10 to 15 cm in Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Al Haouz, Azilal, and Midelt.
The DGM urged residents and travelers in these areas to prepare for difficult conditions and remain alert to official updates.
