المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsRabat – Police in Casablanca opened an investigation after a series of videos showed a man inciting violence and threatening to commit violent crimes.
A statement from the police said that investigations and inquiries carried out in light of the videos identified the suspect, who was arrested in the Hay Mohammedi district in Casablanca.
The investigations were conducted in close coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
Preliminary findings show that the suspect suffers from mental disorders. This required referring him to the psychiatric department of the Ibn Rochd University Hospital in Casablanca to conduct the necessary mental and psychological evaluations.
In the videos, the man was shown inciting the killing of people of different religious affiliations and threatening to commit felonies and misdemeanors using bladed weapons of various sizes.
The arrest comes as Morocco’s security services intensify efforts to identify similar content on social media, acting to address crimes or attempts that may threaten public safety.
Social media has also become a source of concern, as many videos have helped security services identify threats to public security.
In its annual report last year, Morocco’s police said violent crimes in the country fell by 10%.
The annual report added that police dismantled 1,112 criminal networks specializing in violent offenses.
The DGSN said the total number of criminal cases reached 779,008, and that 415 individuals were brought before the judiciary for various cybercrime-related cases in 2025.
