Morocco Arrests British Suspect Wanted in Belgium Drug Trafficking Case
المصدر: Morocco World News | Source: Morocco World NewsRabat – Moroccan Authorities arrested a 34-year-old British national on Saturday at Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport after receiving an international arrest warrant issued by Belgian judicial services.
The suspect was intercepted by national police officers at the airport as he was about to board a flight bound for Dubai. A routine identity check against the national police database showed that he was subject to an international notice requested by Belgium.
Belgian authorities suspect the man of involvement in a criminal network linked to the international trafficking of narcotics and psychotropic substances.
Following his arrest, the suspect was placed under extradition procedures under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office.
Morocco’s Central Bureau of National Judicial Police, the Interpol office in Rabat, was tasked with notifying its Belgian counterpart of the arrest and with handling coordination linked to the extradition process.
The arrest forms part of ongoing judicial cooperation between Morocco and international partners, aimed at tracking and detaining individuals wanted in cross-border criminal cases.
Authorities continue to rely on international security coordination frameworks to process similar cases at border points, particularly at major transit hubs such as Casablanca’s Mohammed V International Airport.
