Moment young mother, 19, is pushed by older boyfriend's truck seconds before 'she was murdered when she was crushed against lamppost'

CCTV showing the seconds before Lily Whitehouse, 19, was allegedly fatally crushed against a lamppost were released by police today, along with the moment of Mohammed Azim's arrest.  Audio of a 999 call in which Azim claimed the teenager had been hit by a car, which had driven away, was also released. Azim is on trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court accused of murdering Miss Whitehouse on November 5 last year, just months after she gave birth to a premature baby that was fathered by another man.  The teenager, who had just been to visit her baby in a neonatal intensive care unit, was allegedly crushed against a lamppost in Old Park Lane in Oldbury, West Midlands, by Azim's Mercedes Sprinter vehicle, suffering fatal chest injuries. Another clip released today shows Miss Whitehouse leaving Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, West Midlands. Jurors were told last week how Azim, who worked as a recovery driver, picked her up in his truck to take her home - but drove past the road where she lived. During her opening of the case, prosecutor Rachel Brand KC said: 'Why did he drive past the road if he was giving her a lift home?' That is why he drove past where she lived.' CCTV from a nearby school then captured the sound of Azim's recovery truck idling just out of view of the camera for around 16 minutes before the truck comes into view and Miss Whitehouse is seen walking quickly along the road on the driver's side. 'The defendant is driving the truck as if he was nudging or pushing her along the road,' Ms Brand told the court.  'Lily started running, the vehicle is pursuing her at a low speed but, nevertheless, we say he was clearly using that large, heavy vehicle as a weapon.' Miss Whitehouse, who was just 5ft 3ins and weighed less than seven and a half stone, suffered severe injuries.  Jurors were told she had got out of the truck and was running along the road as Azim pursued her in the vehicle before hitting her, on what was Azim's 41st birthday.  After Miss Whitehouse was injured, Azim, who had been in an on-off relationship with her since 2023, is alleged to have picked her up and put her in his truck while dialling 999.  The defendant told the emergency services he had seen Miss Whitehouse being hit by a vehicle that did not stop at the scene.  In the frantic 999 call, Azim is heard saying: 'I need an ambulance please, please… it's crazy… she is bleeding, she got hit by a car and they drive off… they drive off.' Azim, was arrested after claiming he had seen somebody else hit Ms Whitehouse as she crossed the road  Miss Whitehouse had been in an on-off  relationship with her since 2023  Asked by the call handler what had happened, Azim replied: 'I don't know she got run over… she was crossing the road… She's in my truck, she's in my truck… Oh my god… it's messed up man.'  He stopped the truck in nearby Park Street and put her on the pavement before the emergency services arrived.  Police body-worn video footage captured Azim, with blood on his face, describing what type of car had hit Miss Whitehouse, comparing it to another vehicle in the road.  He told officers: 'Man he was fast, that's why man, or he didn't see her, I don't know. Oh my god.'  After paramedics and police found Azim's story about a hit-and-run 'strange', he was arrested on suspicion of murder, the court was told.  Azim held his hands to his face as he said 'I have never seen something like this man' in the back of a police car before he was handcuffed.  Prosecution counsel acting on behalf of the Crown has been reading extensive text messages between the defendant and Ms Whitehouse in the years before she died, in which Miss Whitehouse regularly begged Azim to see her and accused him of seeing other women.
