Moment machete-wielding gang on bikes brawl with driver in front of horrified passersby in broad daylight

The three armed thugs pull up on both sides of a silver Vauxhall with machetes at a set of traffic lights in Hulme, Manchester. The first jab of the machete is sent straight into the car through the passenger window, and another masked assailant delivers the next right afterwards through the driver's side window. They slash several times at their victims, who appear helpless, but then they erupt from the car brandishing their own machete and launch a terrifying counterattack. A bystander watching and recording from his own car calls out 'Oh no' as the brawl escalates. It is believed the witness recorded the footage on Saturday, and it was posted online yesterday. Under attack, the driver - also wearing a balaclava - is unarmed but manages to unsaddle one of the attackers, but appears to get hit as he surges towards the biker. Meanwhile, his passenger rushes around the other side to back up his friend with his own machete. After pushing back the onslaught, the driver returns to the car and rummages around until he pulls out a knife and rejoins the fray to back up the passenger. Four thugs went toe to toe at one point in and machete brawl in Hulme, Manchester Three masked thugs pulled up to the silver Vauxhall at a set of traffic lights and started stabbing machetes through both windows at the occupants 'Please stop it,' the onlooker says as the gang maniacally slashes at each other with the giant blades. 'Welcome to Britain, everyone, they've got f****** knives,' he says. The attackers rally after first being pushed off in the counter charge, and four of them go toe to toe - machetes held above their heads - right in the middle of the road. As deadly blows are swung, the driver and his friend have to retreat behind their car. A member of the bike gang chases them down and narrowly misses one with a savage slash. He decides to then smash out the back window of the car with the butt of his machete. And then he changes tack to help his accomplice stab at the other man. 'This is what we have to deal with day in and day out. Look at what we f****** brought in,' the astonished witness says. The attackers finally flee after picking up their bikes, and the pair trot back to the car. 'Look at the state of it, he's f****** bleeding, he's hit round the head, he's going to get back in. 'This is absolutely outrageous.' Here, the driver launches out of the car while unarmed in a counterattack to beat off the thugs stabbing at him and his passenger. It appears he is hit by a machete, and the bystander later says he is bleeding The bike gang eventually retreats and picks their bikes back off and flee. They had broken the car window and injured one of their targets The two in the car managed to fight off the attack Manchester had 3,842 knife crimes last year, making it the second most dangerous city for stabbings in the UK, according to Reolink. London was the most dangerous with 14,577, while Birmingham came in third with 3,215 incidents.  The Daily Mail has contacted Greater Manchester Police.
