Motor neurone disease (MND) is a rare condition, but it can affect any adult of any age, although typically it's likely to affect people over 50. Up to 5,000 people in the UK at any one time will have MND. While there is growing awareness of MND, there is much that is not widely understood beyond the professionals working within research, clinical and medical environments.
