A British travel influencer who went missing after a night out in Morocco is understood to have been found safe days later. Rachel Kerr, 31, checked out of her hotel and then turned off her phone as she vanished on April 25 – leaving her family “extremely worried” . She left the SMART Nightclub in the coastal resort of Agadir at around 5am last Saturday and the content creator from Dunblane also checked out of the Carribbean Village hotel. But local police in Agadir are now understood to have found the Scottish social media star in an apartment this morning. Ayoub Zaroual, a member of the Caribbean Village Agador Hotel Facebook group, wrote in a social media post this afternoon: “Agadir police have located the missing Scottish tourist and influencer Rachel Kerr, confirming she is safe and was found in an apartment in the city after voluntarily checking out of her hotel. “In a statement released on Wednesday, April 29, the Agadir Security Authority said it received notification of the disappearance on April 27 and immediately launched an investigation, using national security databases to identify the woman and trace her movements. “Records confirmed she had entered Morocco on March 30. Police located her in an apartment in Agadir, where she was found to have left her hotel of her own accord and had not been subjected to any attack or threat to her physical safety. “Authorities confirmed she is still in Morocco under normal circumstances and is in contact with her brother, who entered the country on April 22 and reached her in Agadir.” Writing on social media, her cousin Claire Hill said yesterday: "We're very concerned for her welfare and are appealing for any information on her whereabouts or who she might be in contact with out there. Please get in touch if you have any information." She added that Scottish police have been informed, and that relatives were making their way to Agadir to support the search effort. Friend Alexis Shaw meanwhile shared that had originally been scheduled to fly back home to Scotland a fortnight earlier. Concern had been raised after one tourist with knowledge of the area who recently visited the same nightclub, wrote online that it has a "reputation for drink spiking", while another said it was not a "good place for a young person". Until her recent disappearance, Rachel regularly shared videos of herself travelling around the world and promoted a WhatsApp group offering guided tours. She had also done some modelling work. After arriving in Agadir, she wrote: "What a life to be able to wander about and explore places on our planet, meet new people and learn new things." Her last post on her Instagram account came two weeks ago, and was captioned "la marinaaaa".
