Miriam Cates was in Kirkgate Market in Leeds to meet David Ramsden of Ramsden Fishmongers, whose family have been trading fish in the area for “well over” 100 years.
The GB News host explored the historic market, celebrating the incredible legacy of trade in the UK.
“Well, as a family, we've been here in the market for well over 100 years. The family business actually pre-dates the building of the market,” Mr Ramsden explained.
“Arthur Williams Limited was out on the old fish market as this was being built, and then they moved inside. They survived the fire of 1975.
“My dad, Arthur Ramsden, set up his own business in 68 and then gradually took over the Welham side of the business and incorporated it all together. And we've just kept going on ever since then.”
