Mets' Ronny Mauricio breaks left thumb, worsening infield injury situation

ANAHEIM, Calif. — The New York Mets, losers of 18 of 22 games, will now be down a second starting shortstop as Ronny Mauricio fractured his left thumb on a slide into first base Saturday.Mauricio’s injury occurred in the seventh inning of the Mets’ 4-3, 10-inning loss to the Angels.
