McDonald's shakes up UK menu as it adds indulgent iced drink for summer
McDonald's is bringing a brand-new iced beverage to its summer menu, and matcha fans are sure to love it.
The fast food giant is rolling out its Vanilla Matcha Frappé at restaurants across the UK and Ireland from Tuesday, 2nd June.
The refreshing drink blends matcha green tea flavouring with sweet vanilla, mixed with ice and finished with a swirl of cream on top.
It is priced at £3.69 for a medium serving, although the price may vary depending on location.
Matcha is a form of green tea that has grown in popularity in the UK in recent years, making its way onto cafe menus and even into products such as cakes and cookies.
Whether you're already obsessed with matcha or curious to give it a go, this creamy concoction is designed as the ultimate summer sipper.
But the matcha newcomer isn't the only refreshing option recently added to the McCafé summer menu.
Those after something fruity can grab the Raspberry x Sprite Zero, which mixes the fizzy favourite with sugar-free raspberry syrup over ice for £2.29. There's also a Pineapple x Sprite Zero version for the same price.
Fancy something frozen? The Frozen Cherry Lemonade delivers a tangy, chilled treat with a sweet cherry swirl, coming in at £3.09 for a medium. For chocolate lovers, the Chocolate Honeycomb Frappé offers a rich, creamy blend topped with cream and crunchy honeycomb pieces at £3.69.

This comes just weeks after McDonald's shook up its menu permanently with the addition of two new McCrispy variations.
The chain has introduced the Spicy McCrispy and Cheese & Bacon McCrispy as permanent additions to menus across the UK and Ireland.
The Spicy McCrispy features 100% chicken breast in a crispy coating with lettuce and a creamy spicy mayo, while the Cheese & Bacon version loads up the same crispy chicken with black pepper mayo, cheese and bacon.
A new Spicy Mayo dip also joined the lineup for good, perfect for dunking everything from fries to hash browns at breakfast.
