Its store at South Lakeland Retail Park in Kendal, Cumbria, closed on Tuesday, April 7.‌The closure is the fourth Matalan UK shop to cease trading this year after earlier shutdowns in Carlisle, Colne, and Leeds. While the Carlisle and Colne branches closed on March 7, the Leeds outlet at The Core Shopping Centre shut permanently on February 24.‌A Matalan spokesperson said: "Our store at South Lakeland Retail Park will close in April. Our priority now is to support our colleagues.
