In a post on X, Boulos said that Iran uses Hezbollah as part of its efforts to destabilize the region and challenge Lebanon’s sovereignty. “Today’s @USTreasury action, re-designating Hizballah and sanctioning ten individuals who moved cash between the IRGC-Qods Force and Hizballah, shows our resolve to cut off these terror financing networks,” Boulos wrote. His comments came following a U.S. Treasury Department action targeting Hezbollah and individuals accused of facilitating the movement of funds between Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force and Hezbollah. Boulos emphasized that the United States remains determined to disrupt the financial networks supporting Hezbollah, describing the latest measures as part of Washington’s broader efforts to counter what it considers Iran-backed terrorism and regional destabilization.
