Mass shooting outside Minneapolis nightclub leaves nine people injured

Officials said that a large group of bystanders was outside Reign Event Center just before 12.30am when a fight escalated. Officers responded in minutes and found four people wounded at the scene, including multiple victims suffering from life-threatening injuries. Two men aged 20 and 21 suffered potentially life-threatening injuries and were brought to local hospitals. Other victims included a 21-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman and a 27-year-old woman with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, who were brought to Hennepin Healthcare. Additional victims, such as a 20-year-old man, a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man with injuries that did not appear life-threatening, were transported to Abbott Northwestern Hospital before they were transferred to Hennepin Healthcare. An 18-year-old man later brought himself to Hennepin Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. 'We need partnerships where the perpetrators of these acts are arrested and prosecuted, we need to continue hiring more police officers to both investigate and prevent gun crimes, and we must embrace proven technologies from drones to ShotSpotter that allow our police to do their jobs with greater efficiency.' 'I'm grateful for the work of our police officers that immediately responded and are working towards arrests.' The city's Firearm Assault Shoot Team is leading the investigation. No arrests had been made at the time of this report. Investigators are trying to determine whether the incident was a drive-by shooting The nightclub was hosting a meet-and-greet event with reality TV star Ivori Babu when shots erupted outside the establishment, according to Reign's social media accounts. According to KSTP, Babu posted to her Instagram story: 'They just shot my booking up with a switch. Prayers to the people who were injured.'
