MAS Coach: Some of Our Players Deserve to Play in the World Cup

Maghreb Fez (MAS) coach Pablo Franco has expressed his immense satisfaction with the team’s performance following their win against Wydad on Sunday. 

The coach preferred to share his happiness with the entire MAS family, particularly the players, who played a significant role, as well as the technical and medical staff, and the supporters.

Franco emphasized the joy the team felt during the match, not only because of the result, but also thanks to the way they fought to achieve it. “It’s only half a season, but 10 months have passed. When we started, we had nothing, and the players didn’t expect to achieve what we have. Some of them deserve to play in the World Cup,” he argued.

The Spanish coach stated that his team approached the match with a clear tactical plan, demonstrating discipline, organization, and maturity throughout. 

Franco added that the victory was no coincidence. It was the result of tactical awareness, collective effort, and the players’ ability to execute instructions under pressure. Such qualities are not only indicative of a strong domestic side, but also of a team possessing attributes required at the highest international level.

The coach signed a one-season contract with an option for renewal, starting July 1, 2025. The Spanish technician brings a wealth of high-level experience to the Botola Pro, including notable stints in La Liga with Getafe and a role leading Real Madrid’s B team.

Beyond his European background, Franco possesses extensive knowledge of both Arab and African football landscapes. His career has taken him to Al-Qadisiyah in Kuwait and Al-Faisaly in Saudi Arabia, as well as Simba SC in Tanzania and AmaZulu FC in South Africa.
