Darts pundit Mark Webster has revealed he will be back on screens this Thursday for Premier League coverage at Birmingham's Utilita Arena, despite continuing his battle against cancer.

The popular commentator, who disclosed his hairy cell leukaemia diagnosis just last week, confirmed his condition has improved sufficiently for him to resume his broadcasting duties.

Webster will return for night 15 of the competition, the penultimate event before finals night takes place at the O2 Arena.

The Welshman remains in treatment for the rare blood cancer but has received medical clearance to rejoin the coverage team.

Webster revealed his diagnosis to the public last week, disclosing that he had been undergoing treatment for hairy cell leukaemia, a rare form of blood cancer.

Despite the serious nature of the condition, the former world champion received encouraging news from medical professionals regarding his outlook.

Mark Webster has been flooded with support since sharing his cancer diagnosis

His prognosis was described as positive from the outset, offering hope to fans who have followed his career both as a player and broadcaster.

The improvement in his health has been swift enough to allow him to return to work while still receiving ongoing treatment for the disease.

Another well-wisher wrote: "Great news, Mark. Looking forward to seeing you and very best wishes for your recovery."

Sky Sports Darts colleague Polly James was equally thrilled, posting: "The BEST news! Can't wait to see ya again on Thursday!"

Thursday's event sees Luke Littler chasing a fourth consecutive victory, with the teenager topping the standings following a difficult start to the season.
