GB News has mapped all the places where migrants could be housed after Reform UK announced plans to put migrant detention centres in Green Party council areas, should they win the next election.

The People’s Channel has mapped out the possible housing areas for the current Green constituencies.

On Monday, Reform’s spokesman for home affairs, Zia Yusuf, said that Green-controlled areas would be prioritised due to what he described as the party’s support for “open borders.”

Mr Yusuf said: “Given the Green Party advocate for open borders and for an infinite number of undocumented men to come here, we will prioritise Green constituencies and Green-controlled councils to locate these detention centres.

“This is the fairest approach to ensuring democratic consent for all aspects of our mass deportation programme.”

The party also added that it would introduce a Mass Deportation Detention Act.

The act would see the Home Secretary granted powers to stop councils from opposing the opening of detention centres.

People placed within the detention centres would not be able to leave and would stay there for two weeks before deportation under the new plan.

Where would the detention centres be located?

Reform detention centres

Gorton & Denton

The most recent place to see success for the Greens was Gorton & Denton, when Hannah Spencer won the by-election with over 4,000 votes in February.

The by-election was not without controversy as Matt Goodwin, Reform’s candidate who placed second, alleged “family voting” took place.

He called the situation “deeply concerning.” After a report was made to Greater Manchester Police, an investigation was launched into the claim.

The investigation concluded at the end of March and found no evidence to suggest that “family-voting” had taken place.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Zack Polanski, Nigel Farage

North Hertfordshire

Reform has also set its sights on North Hertfordshire, where Ellie Chowns has been the MP since July 2024.

She previously worked as a local councillor and a member of the European Parliament.

On her website, she has labelled her “top priorities” as “strengthening our local economy, improving public services, and protecting nature.”

She has been a leading voice on restoring and protecting the River Lugg and River Wye as well as restoring the NHS.

Bristol Central

Bristol Central would see a detention centre under Reform’s plans, as Carla Denyer has been MP for the area since July 2024.

She is currently the Green’s spokesman for immigration, as well as their spokesman for Energy and Net Zero, Science, Innovation and Technology, and for Women and Equalities.

She has been outspoken on tackling the climate “emergency”, as well as ending the housing crisis within Bristol.

She has also pledged to make fairer and greener transport around the city.

Waveney Valley

The former co-leader of the Green Party would also see a detention centre in his constituency under Nigel Farage’s new scheme.

Adrian Ramsey, MP for Waveney Valley, spanning the border of Norfolk and Suffolk, currently holds the position of spokesman for the Treasury, Health, Dentistry and Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

He was co-leader of the Green Party for nearly four years from October 2021 to September last year.

He has called for reforms to the way treatment is regulated for urgent dental appointments, after nearly 900,000 patients were unable to receive care.

Brighton Pavilion

The sunny seaside city of Brighton would also see a migrant detention centre as Sian Berry has been MP there since the last election.

She was a Borough Councillor for 10 years and served two terms as co-leader of the Green Party.

The constituency had previously elected the Greens first MP in Caroline Lucas, who served as their MP for eight years.

Ms Berry took up the role in 2024 and has made her calls for Sir Keir Starmer's resignation over the Peter Mandelson scandal clear.
