Manhunt sparked after a driver allegedly rammed a car and threatened teens with a screwdriver at a Guzman Y Gomez

Published: 07:34, 14 June 2026 | Updated: 07:41, 14 June 2026 A man is on the run after allegedly crashing into another car while waiting for food at a Guzman Y Gomez restaurant on the Gold Coast. Police were called to the drive-through restaurant on Laver Drive in Robina at around 9.45pm on Saturday following reports of an incident. Witnesses said the man driving a brown Nissan Patrol became impatient and tried to leave the drive-through.  It is alleged he rammed the car in front, which had two teenagers inside. The incident caused significant damage to both vehicles. The man then allegedly got out and threatened the teenagers with a screwdriver before locking his car and fleeing on foot.  The teenagers suffered hand and lower back injuries from the incident. They were taken to Robina Hospital for treatment. They also appealed for anyone with relevant dashcam footage or CCTV to get in touch.  As of Sunday afternoon, the Daily Mail understands no arrests have been made.
