Man Utd given new Marcus Rashford transfer proposal for Bruno Fernandes 'phenomenon'

Former Manchester United star Jaap Stam has told the Red Devils to complete a sensational swap deal involving Marcus Rashford and AC Milan ace Rafael Leao. The former’s future remains up in the air, having spent the year on loan with Spanish giants Barcelona . The Catalans have an option to make that deal permanent but it remains to be seen whether they activate that clause. Rashford, however, has expressed his desire to stay at the Camp Nou. Speaking after helping Barcelona to the Spanish crown, he said: "I don't know. I am not a magician, but if I was, I would stay. So we will see." But former United star Stam has suggested that Rashford’s future could lie in Italy, with a swap deal for Milan forward Leao potentially on the cards. I think he is a player that should be on the list of targets for Manchester United. “Having said that, you need to have a look not only at the skill of a player, but also at the mentality of players. You need to consider the situation where the club is, what player they are bringing in that is going to help the club going forward, so that you don’t get any irritations from players who are not being picked to start. “We’ve seen that that can create a kind of a stir within the dressing room. So you need to have a look at the personality of players, at the whole picture, and what’s the best player to bring into the club. “It feels very exciting to bring in these types of players, but you don’t need to look at what’s the best for right now, you need to look at long-term projects and what’s very important for the club.” Leao is expected to leave AC Milan this summer, with the Portuguese forward having just a year remaining on his contract. Reports in Italy have already suggested that United are mulling over a move. One man who would seemingly be a big fan of the winger moving to Old Trafford is captain Bruno Fernandes . Speaking about his compatriot last year, he said: "I met him as a kid at Sporting; he came up to the first team with me. "He is a boy with an enormous talent that we all hope will become stronger every time because we know how much talent he has.
