Police said the man, whose identity was not been confirmed, was discovered in a road near Atherstone in the early hours of Friday (April 3).As part of their investigation, police arrested a 23-year-old man from Nuneaton and a 74-year-old man from Shifnal on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. Both men have been bailed as the investigation continues.Police have issued an appeal for CCTV, doorbell cameras and dashcam footage from the area. They said they are particularly keen on footage showing a 'red Mercedes Vito van' in the area around 1am.Warwickshire Police said: "We have arrested two people after a man’s body was discovered in a road near Atherstone in the early hours of Friday (3 April) morning. The body of the man in his 50s was discovered in Monk’s Park Lane just after 1.30am."Our main line of enquiry is that a vehicle collided with him and left the scene. A couple of hours later a 23-year-old man from Nuneaton and a 74-year-old man from Shifnal were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident."They have both been bailed while enquiries continue."PC Craig Pearson from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “An investigation into the incident has started to establish the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
