A man from Hornchurch has been charged with five offences following an alleged antisemitic attack in north London.

Dylan Ossei, 34, who resides on Lyndhurst Drive, faces charges including racially aggravated assault and racially aggravated harassment after three members of the Jewish community were allegedly targeted on Southbury Road, Enfield.

The alleged incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning at around 01:20am, when officers on patrol were alerted to a man allegedly threatening and assaulting victims.

The 34-year-old was arrested on Saturday and charged earlier today.

He remains in custody ahead of his court appearance.

Three people sustained injuries during the alleged incident.

The victims comprised two men, aged 58 and 26, along with a 53-year-old woman.

According to the Metropolitan Police, none of the three required further medical treatment for their injuries.

The full list of charges against Ossei includes assault, racially or religiously aggravated assault, threatening or abusive behaviour intended to cause fear or provoke violence, racially or religiously aggravated harassment, and threatening or abusive behaviour causing harassment, alarm or distress.

Detective Superintendent Marco Bardetti, who leads policing across Enfield and Haringey, emphasised the force's commitment to tackling such offences.

He said: "The Met has made it abundantly clear that we treat reports of alleged antisemitic hate crime with the utmost seriousness and diligence, as demonstrated by the swift arrest and charge following this incident.

"We will continue working closely with Jewish communities across London to provide reassurance and ensure people feel safe in their daily lives."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Ossei is scheduled to appear before Highbury Magistrates' Court tomorrow, having been remanded in custody following his arrest.
