A man has been charged for sending a death threat to Robert Jenrick.

Police were called to investigate allegedly antisemitic voicemails sent to the Reform UK Treasury spokesman.

The voicemails, left at Mr Jenrick's constituency office in Newark, Nottinghamshire, allegedly made reference to his wife, Michal Berkner, who is Jewish.

Nick Daly, 30, of Oxted, Surrey, has been charged with sending a communication threatening death or serious harm to an MP, the Crown Prosecution Service said.

He was also charged with sending an antisemitic message to the Israeli embassy, in west London, and hate messages to a Muslim organisation.

Separately, he has been accused of possessing an offensive weapon and cannabis.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between January 27, Holocaust Memorial Day, and May 7.

Mr Daly confirmed his name, address and date of birth as he appeared at Guildford Magistrate's Court on Saturday.

Mr Jenrick said he and his wife had been subject to antisemitic abuse on BBC Question Time on Friday night.

He also referenced the 2016 murder of Jo Cox and 2021 murder of Sir David Amess.

"I’ve known two members of parliament who have been killed in the time that I’ve been in the House of Commons," he added.

After broadcast, the treasury spokesman refused to comment further.

He was sacked from the role by Boris Johnson in September 2021 and joined Reform UK in 2026.

The charge is the latest in a series of offences linked to antisemitism, including the firebombing of synagogues. ambulances, and stabbing of two Jewish men in Golders Green.
