Local authorities and diving centers have promoted Fuvahmulah as a leading shark-diving destination, PSM News said, adding that the city won the Best Shark Diving Destination award at Asia's largest diving expo in December 2024.
Maldives is one of the leading shark tourism destinations in the world.
