Following a complaint filed by the woman, police arrested Laskar and launched an investigation into the allegations. According to the complaint, the woman alleged that she was sexually assaulted multiple times at the security agency’s office located near the hospital’s diarrhoea ward. She also claimed that the accused threatened her to prevent her from reporting the incidents to anyone. The victim lodged a complaint at the English Bazar Police Station in Malda on August 16. Acting on the complaint, police initiated an inquiry and subsequently arrested the accused. Laskar was produced before a court on Wednesday, police said.
