The firm's board concluded that continuing to trade was no longer viable after efforts to find a strategic partner proved unsuccessful.
Mask Logic, which specialised in bespoke respiratory protection using 3D scanning technology, ceased trading shortly before David McGinness and Judith Howson of AAB Business & Tax Advisory were appointed joint administrators.
Mask Logic was established in 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic with the aim of addressing the issue of ill-fitting and uncomfortable face masks, particularly in workplaces where respiratory protection is required.
TRENDINGStoriesVideosYour SayIts flagship product was a reusable half-mask respirator tailored to each individual wearer using advanced 3D scanning technology.
The technology generated a detailed facial map within minutes, which was then used to create a custom-designed nose bridge to provide an improved seal and fit.
Customers were able to complete the scanning process themselves using a dedicated app before uploading their facial measurements, which were converted into manufacturing specifications for a personalised respirator.
The company announced in April 2025 that it had secured almost £800,000 through a combination of investment and grant funding.
Its seed funding round raised £659,000 and was led by Edinburgh angel syndicate Equity Gap.
The investment round also included backing from Scottish Enterprise, Old College Capital, the University of Edinburgh's venture investment arm, and Apollo Informal Investment.
Scottish Enterprise also provided an additional £128,000 in grant funding, taking the total funding package to close to £800,000.

A spokesman for AAB said: "The company explored multiple avenues to secure a strategic partnership for delivering individually fit respiratory protection globally but unfortunately was unable complete the strategy.
"Because scaling independently was too expensive and too slow for the available financing, the board of directors concluded that there was no other option than to seek the appointment of joint administrators."
Joint administrator, David McGinness, said: "Unfortunately, all staff were made redundant upon the joint administrators appointment."
He added: "The joint administrators are engaged with the relevant agencies to co-ordinate supporting the employees through the difficult process."
The joint administrators said creditors, former employees, customers and other affected parties will be contacted directly with relevant information.
According to the latest Insolvency Service data, 104 company insolvencies were registered in Scotland during June, a figure broadly unchanged from the same month last year.
