A helicopter was also seen hovering as armed officers swarmed in to de-escalate the 'attack'.‌Witnesses told Yorkshire Live how the group were "thrashing machetes" around in front of "horrified" shoppers. It remains unknown how many were involved in the apparent fight.‌According to officers, no arrests were made, and no injuries were reported. A spokesperson said: "At 3.27pm, officers were called to Foundry Street in Dewsbury to reports people were fighting in the street with machetes. Armed Police attended all was in order and no injuries have been reported. Enquiries are ongoing."The ordeal comes just days after a teenager, 17, was reportedly attacked by a gang of youths with a machete in Liverpool city centre. The incident, which unfolded at around 7.15pm on Monday, April 6, on the steps of Chavasse Park was shockingly recorded and vent viral online.Article continues belowThe victim was later treated for a minor slash wound to his arm and swelling to his head, Merseyside Police said. A spokesperson confirmed that a 16-year-old boy was arrested the next day on suspicion of affray and has since been released on police bail with conditions not to enter the city centre and surrounding areas while the investigation is ongoing.
