Luke Littler explains 'reckless' car journey after Premier League win in Leeds
Luke Littler has revealed he nearly missed Thursday night's Premier League win in Leeds.
The 19-year-old secured his sixth nightly victory of the campaign with a 6-5 triumph over Luke Humphries to extend his lead at the top of the table.
Littler, who has already qualified for the finals at the 02 Arena later this month, is now five points clear of Jonny Clayton at the summit.
However, the teenager has confessed he very nearly missed last night's action.
Having struggled to get ready on time, alongside girlfriend Faith Millar, he found himself rushing to reach the First Direct Arena.
Speaking to Sportsboom, he said: “I came straight from home. We were supposed to leave for 3PM, but yeah, we didn't, I wasn't ready, Faith wasn't ready and then we're rushing about.
“I was driving, yeah, it was a bit reckless, but I had to get here. The timing was just kept going up and up and up, but yeah, managed to get here about, I think it was 20 to 7, quarter to seven, it's all planned out well.”

Littler also revealed he saw Leeds players while making his way to the venue.
“I spotted Ethan Ampadu. I was like, 'Is that Ethan Ampadu?', and then the next person was Willy Gnonto, the little one," he added.
"I beeped at him and then I looked at my mirror, and they were all looking, so I beeped again.”

Speaking to the same outlet, Littler also opened up on his beloved Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been in resurgent form ever since Michael Carrick replaced Ruben Amorim as manager back in January.
Carrick is widely expected to be given the job on a permanent basis. Though Julian Nagelsmann and Andoni Iraola have been linked, the job is the 44-year-old's to lose.
United previously gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the role on a permanent basis after his own success as interim boss in 2019.
Solskjaer did well enough but failed to guide the club to any silverware before being dismissed in November 2021.
But Littler believes Carrick is the right man for the position. He said: “Yeah, I think obviously he's done a great job.

“I've seen loads of people saying he might be another [Ole Gunnar] Solskjær, does well, comes in, doesn't do so well, doesn't win trophies.
“But yeah, I've been happy with him [Carrick].”
There's now just one week of regular Premier League Darts action to go.
Littler and his rivals will be looking to triumph in Birmingham next time out, with the finals then due to take place at the 02 Arena in London on May 28.
