The Northern Irishman spent over three years at the helm of Liverpool but saw his stint at Anfield end after a 1-1 draw with Everton.‌After earning just three wins in his first seven games of the 2015/16 season, Rodgers' position was in grave danger as reports rang around the Premier League that the Reds' owners Fenway Sports Group were considering the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Carlo Ancelotti as possible successors to Rodgers.‌Then came the derby at Goodison Park, which ended up becoming Rodgers' last game as Liverpool manager. Despite taking the lead through Danny Ings, Romelu Lukaku levelled the scoring just four minutes later.‌The point, against an Everton side that had lost just once in their opening eight games, left Liverpool 10th in the table in early October, which eventually proved too much for FSG to accept.Speaking after full-time, Rodgers praised his players, saying: "Our mentality in the game was outstanding, the draw was the least we deserved."
